The Gas-Lit Child: Anxiety and Ambivalence
Objective:
OPD Points: 5
Outline:
3-hour, LIVE WorkshopChildren develop their sense of identity through exploration and 'role-modelling' from others around them. When they feel their life choices are limited by the expectations of others, it can lead to uncertainty and anxiety. These expectations can be about education and sports, friends and social time, career choices and lifestyle, and very importantly, values and politics. Play and Arts therapies can help children and teenagers find 'their authentic self' and the courage to express their wishes and opinions. This workshop includes sculpting and role-play, and other activities in a journey of self-discovery to understand ourselves as well as our clients and pupils.
