This international online, on demand program is only available to current or past participants of Treating Complex Trauma (Day 3-4) with Dr Leah Giarratano and there are no exceptions to this policy. Please refer to our 2024 flyer for related program details.This program is intended for all mental health professionals.This optional, highly practical learning consolidation activity is presented by Dr Leah Giarratano as a capstone program to complete the Day 3-4 Trauma Education program. It incorporates the review of a completed Complex Trauma case formulation and then offers two new cases to be formulated by you as structured practical exercises, which can be completed over three months. Participation in this activity will improve your ability to formulate a case plan for Complex Trauma clients using the Treating Complex Trauma (Day 3-4) program skills.If you register for this activity and are currently completing the Day 3-4 trauma education program, Cases 3-4 are provided after completion of the Day 3-4 program and quiz.
Key Learning Objectives / Outcomes:
The program consists of three real, de-identified Complex Trauma case studies to help you apply the Day 3-4 program skills, and these require 6 hours in total to complete. The first Complex Trauma case is a completed example of how your Complex Trauma case formulations will look (as well as the standard of completed formulations).Participants will read two new cases, and answer specific questions designed to generate a clinical assessment and a case/ treatment formulation, applying, but not limited to, the skills learned in the Treating Complex Trauma (Day3-4) training program.After submitting the two case plans, participants will review a video, and detailed notes, of the program presenter’s suggestions for the management of both clients.

Presenter Qualifications:
Leah Giarratano is a doctoral level clinical psychologist who has developed an expertise in the assessment and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma. She has been presenting training programs in Australia since 1996 and in New Zealand since 2000. Leah is the author of seven books covering the assessment and treatment of psychological trauma and in the application of CBT.Her text ‘Clinical Skills for Managing Complex Traumatisation’ was revised in 2022 is available at www.talominbooks.com
