The purpose of the course is to provide participants with an understanding of how to work with clients experiencing domestic violence either incidentally or in an ongoing therapeutic setting, who want to deepen their understanding of this complex area. Participants will gain skills about how to apply risk assessment tools for assessing the impact of domestic violence, and be better placed to understand and work with those that are impacted by relational violence. The course is suitable for all health and welfare professionals.

Key Learning Objectives / Outcomes:

This E-Learning Course comprises 4 self-paced online study modules and includes video demonstration, practical examples, reflective tasks, readings and an online assessment quiz. CSS utilises psychotherapy.net for training videos used within the course to demonstrate a range of evidence based assessment, formulation and treatment approaches across the various modules.

Presenter Qualifications:

Daniela Francavilla Snr Social Worker

Daniela Francavilla is a Snr Social Worker with a wealth of experience spanning over 35 years in the child protection and domestic violence field. She currently divides her time  as Educator in Domestic Violence and Child Protection within the Health Department. She has experience in the design and implementation of domestic and family violence and child protection programs in addition to providing consultation to a number of organisations.

Since 2002 she has worked as an on-call sexual assault counsellor and also has extensive experience as a domestic violence social worker conducting complex psychosocial risk assessments, counselling and safety planning with women who have experienced or who are in situations of domestic violence, including women who are at high risk/high lethality.

Previously she has worked in the Integrated Violence Prevention and Response Service and has over the years delivered training to caseworkers and other health and welfare staff.
