The objectives of this course are as follows:
– to give participants a practical experience of Forest Therapy
– to show participants how to use nature based interventions with clients
– to give a summary of the scientific basis for Forest Therapy
– to give a theoretical basis for Forest Therapy
– to provide participants with a list of nature based resources
– to connect participants with other nature based therapists
Key Learning Objectives / Outcomes:
Our time together will start with an hour on the science of and theoretical concepts behind Forest Therapy. We will then head outside to the Narr-Maen Wetlands and experience a series of sensory and creative, nature based interventions for you to use with your clients.

Matt Glover is the director of MGA Counselling Services, co-founder of Life Therapies Victoria, and founder of both Forest Therapy Victoria and Nature Play 4 Kids. Combining his work as a counsellor with his love for nature, Matt leads individuals, couples, families and groups on Forest Therapy experiences designed to improve mental health, reduce stress levels and increase vitality. The combination of slowing down (REALLY slowing down) with creative and sensory exercises gives participants a unique experience of nature and equips them with skills to take back to their own local park or reserve.
Matt has been involved in the ‘people helping’ field in various capacities for over 25 years, and has been in private practice since 2012.
