This workshop covers the core concepts and techniques of family therapy practice, providing an overview of the influence of the major schools of thought on contemporary practice. The emphasis will be on applying theory as systemic practice, through teaching, demonstration, video, role play, case illustrations, group discussion and small group exercises.
All course notes provided electronically including references, PowerPoint presentation and resources. Can be offered as an interactive videoconference or face-to-face workshop. Suitable for: Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Nurses, Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Practitioners, School Counsellors and health workers engaged with families in treatment.

Presenter Qualifications:
Christine Senediak BA (Hons), M Psychol (Clin), M Family Therapy
Christine is a Senior Clinical Psychologist, family therapist; educator and supervisor with over 40 years’ experience working children, adolescents, adults and families. She is the Director of Clinical Supervision Services (CSS) and the Sydney Family Therapy Institute. She is an accredited Family Therapy Supervisor and Clinical Member with the Australian Association of Family therapy She has extensive background in systemic family therapy and draws her knowledge and skills from various perspectives including Bowen, Milan, Solution focused and Narrative Therapies and also cognitive-behavioural therapy and mindfulness approaches. In addition to her work with AHPRA, Christine also offers supervision, short courses and workshops and consults to agencies on matters relating to mental health and wellbeing across the lifespan.
