What is this research about?
This research, led by PhD candidate Crysta Bowe, involves completing an anonymous online questionnaire. The study seeks insights from Australian professionals who have worked with families involved in child protection systems or have experienced child maltreatment in the past five years.
ACA members are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Charles Sturt University. The study focuses on understanding how professionals perceive and respond to intergenerational child maltreatment – situations where child protection issues span across more than one generation within the same family.
What does participation involve?
If you consent to participate in this study, you will be asked to do the following:
- Complete an anonymous online questionnaire, estimated to take no longer than 30 minutes.
- The questionnaire will include demographic questions, followed by scaling and open-ended questions about your views on intergenerational child maltreatment and involvement with child protection systems across generations.
- Your responses will be analysed and will contribute to a PhD thesis and potential publications.
- Participation in the questionnaire does not obligate you to engage in any further research activities.
By participating, you’ll contribute to vital research that aims to enhance practices and support within child protection systems.
