I'm a Counsellor, Adult Educator and Professional Supervisor. Tertiary qualifications, my personal journey, and a varied work/life history (including military service, education and training, and business consulting) underpins a sensitive, broadly informed, and grounded approach to counselling and supervision.I work in a range of settings including corporate seminars, community workshops, and private practice. I also work for Standby - an organisation providing post-suicide support to individuals, families and groups. My collaborative approach aims to develop self-awareness and practical skills for immediate concerns and future goals. This happens through addressing both root causes and symptoms of problems: for instance, exploring the deeper personal issues contributing to relationship conflicts, whilst developing practical communication skills. It's an approach that honours and utilises your innate capacities for learning, healing and growth to bring about real and lasting change. It’s also a focus on personal flourishing and the ongoing growth of relationships – two key ingredients for happiness and fulfilment.I use an integration of therapeutic techniques and theories; and tailor these to meet each client’s unique characteristics, strengths, resources and needs. Approaches include: Psycho-Education, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and various Interpersonal Therapies.
