Our philosophy at Transitional Support is that throughout life people undergo periods of change, as well as stressors and challenges. These reactions to change are not a reflection of a lack of coping mechanisms; instead, it is an indication of a blockage in our coping strategies and gives us an opportunity personal growth and development.
We assist clients in understanding their situation and equip them with a toolbox of strategies that can manage the outcome, as well as their expectations. Our Team works from a philosophy of understanding a person’s transitional stages through life and that their reactions to these transitions.
Transitional Support Counsellors are highly qualified with more than fifteen years of experience. They are supportive and open-minded individuals who have an empathetic and warm approach to their work. With an extensive background working with complex trauma and using an integrated approach that is client-directed and is tailored to meet the individual needs. Transitional Support involves a combination of various models that honour the individualism of the client.
The Counsellors incorporate various therapies into their sessions that are personalised to fit in with the client. These therapies draw upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Family Systems, Sandplay Therapy, EMDR, EFT (Tapping) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), also known as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT).
