Much of what makes us unhappy is
unconscious and not easily accessed by easy explanations. Gabby works with
clients to explore aspects of their life and their feelings, to learn new ways
of overcoming personal difficulties. Managing vulnerabilities, emotions and
behaviours can make problems easier to understand, build resilience and self
care.
Gabby uses a range of counselling and psychotherapy
models including CBT, psychodynamic, experiential and behavioural. She is
qualified to practice Eye
Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Gabby’s experience includes working with clients referred for anxiety, depression,
drug use, grief and relationship issues. She specialises in providing trauma
counselling to clients who have experienced sexual assault, war-related
experiences, front line responders people referred for mental/physical traumas.
She works with forensic services, bush fire
support, coroner’s court, magistrate court, prison support to psychological
services working in Victorian prisons, natural disasters both within Australia
and overseas supporting workers in high-risk situations.
Her services include critical incident
debriefing and support, and ongoing education and information regarding the
impacts of trauma and stress in the workplace.
She is registered with the Blue Knot
Foundation database.
