I am a ANZACATA Professional registered Creative Art Therapist, Mental Health Practitioner (AThR), Sandplay
Therapist, Professional Clinical Supervisor (M.A.C.A.), who works in the field
of Art Therapy and Creative Arts Counselling.
Where do you go and what happens when you do not have the
words for your feelings, situations or troubling issues? Through the process of
Art therapy, individuals can approach these difficult issues and convey a
message much clearer and safer than with words.
The creating of art serves as a record of these events, which
the individual can later reflect on and understand with greater clarity, with
the potential to break through rather than break down.
My therapeutic creative
Art and Sandplay therapy sessions, provide a safe space for my clients to
reawaken their creativity and inner child, explore where they are presently and
any issues they would like to work through.
I work with children, young people and adults of all ages in groups
and one on one sessions, using a diverse range of creative tools including:
drawing, clay, sand play, painting, mandalas, collage, music, movement and
nature-based Art therapy.
I encourage the journey of self-discovery and companion my
clients, as they map their current story and then create a new healing story
for their future.
The process involves: relaxation, expressive arts making and
amplification to find meaning and connection. This approach is a gentle and
non-invasive way of Creative Arts therapy going deep into one's inner world to
find insights and hope.
No experience of art is needed, you cannot make a mistake, it
is about the process not the outcome. I have facilitated group art therapy
programs in a variety of educational and social settings which include:
* Professional Development and Group Supervision workshops
for Art Therapists, Counsellors and Health practitioners
* Kreative Kids Expressive Arts After School program in
Ballarat,
* School based Art Therapy & wellbeing programs in
primary schools through the Vic Government’ s Mental Health Menu for schools.
* Women’s groups
* Seasons of the Soul
* Open Studio Group Art Therapy-access for all abilities
* Cancer support
* Residential Aged care
* Mandala and Mask workshops.
I have worked 1-1 with individual clients from varying
backgrounds including family violence, complex needs, acquired brain injury, trauma,
bereavement, grief & profound loss, anxiety issues and eating disorders.
As a professional Clinical Supervisor I also offer 1-1 face, Zoom & phone supervision for counsellors, art therapists and case managers.
I also offer my therapeutic services with NDIS
participants who are planned managed or self-managed.
