Menny Monahan

Menny Monahan is a  Clinical Counsellor, an accredited ACA Supervisor and an EMDR therapist [EMDRAA].  Menny has a master’s degree in Counselling, where she developed the Reflecting Partner framework. She is an Industry Fellow in the Faculty of Health, School of Psychology and Counselling at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She specialises in working with children, adolescents and families and is an accomplished general counsellor.  Embracing a postmodern, social constructionist approach to therapy, her work is embedded in trauma-informed practice, where she references and applies theories including the Neuro sequential Model, Polyvagal Theory, and the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study. Menny worked within the YMCA Social Impact, as the Wellbeing Learning Coordinator where she led the  development of an evidence-based, trauma-informed wellbeing program called Thrive Wellbeing Pathway.  Thrive brings life to ground-breaking research that provides young people with an increased capacity to engage in education. In so doing,  Menny works in partnership with the YMCA and delivers training and mentoring to school staff across the eight campuses of the YMCA Vocational Schools.Menny offers Group Supervision/Community of Practice Groups to supervisees. Group supervision is offered on the second Tuesday of each month as a general rule (Holiday permitting). Reach out to Menny for mor information.
