Scott Brandreth

Scott Brandreth is a Psychotherapist, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Clincial Supervisor. He holds a Master’s Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy from the University of Birmingham (UK) and is a registered clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Scott’s clinical work and expertise is centred on helping clients, including those from corporate backgrounds, in areas including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, loss, anger, physical pain, addictions, sexuality and trauma. He has a strong and long-running interest in business and community sector emotional and physical well-being and helping people lead productive and rewarding professional and personal lives. Scott’s extensive clinical experience includes short-term psychotherapeutic work with patients in a Primary Care setting, long-term psychotherapeutic work with adults at the United Kingdom’s leading mental health charity and as a psychotherapist working with clients on a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, Eating Disorders Unit and General Acute Unit in the United Kingdom. He has also worked in private practice at a community level with clients from a variety of high-level corporate and managerial backgrounds presenting with a variety of issues. Scott has lectured in the UK issues including Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT) and self-harm, the importance of therapeutic frameworks and boundaries when working psychotherapeutically in inpatient settings and utilising Yoga as an adjunct to psychotherapy. For the past 20 years, he has also had extensive experience working in private enterprise and the public and education sectors in Australia and the United Kingdom. Scott uses a number of internationally recognised and evidence-based psychotherapeutic and counselling approaches to assist his clients in understanding issues in their lives which may cause them to experience difficulties at various levels. He then helps then in achieving change, improving their personal and or work life or successfully get back to work. He has a particular interest in pain management. Scott has also worked with senior executives around mental health maintenance and performance-related issues including presentational, interpersonal and negotiation skills. In this regard Scott uses and is trained in approaches including •Attachment-based Psychodynamic Psychotherapy •Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (Level3) •Dialectical Behaviour Therapy •Mindfulness As a private psychotherapy and counselling provider, Scott’s practice aims to provide better outcomes for clients and better outcomes for human resource referrers and their companies.
