I established my private counselling practice in Girrawheen in 2020, focusing on supporting individuals navigating life transitions such as career changes, relationship shifts, personal growth, or challenges like relocating, starting a new job, or coping with loss. My practice also specialises in relationship counselling, helping couples and individuals explore dynamics, resolve conflicts, and build stronger, more fulfilling connections.
With several years of experience in mental health and qualifications, including a diploma and bachelor's degree in counselling, I tailor therapeutic approaches to meet each client's unique needs. My practice draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Existential Therapy, alongside my ongoing focus on learning and integrating Relationship Counselling and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy into my work.
In addition to my work with clients, I am an approved supervisor for counsellors, supporting and guiding professionals in their development and practice. This role allows me to contribute to the growth of the counselling field and share insights gained from my own experiences.
I believe in the transformative power of reframing self-narratives, cultivating self-compassion, and embracing self-acceptance. This philosophy inspires hope and fosters personal growth, empowering individuals to navigate transitions and relationship challenges with resilience and clarity. My approach is collaborative, helping clients clarify goals, explore pathways, and develop practical strategies for meaningful change.
Life's complexities shape us, but we have the power to influence how we respond and adapt. I see myself as a fellow traveller, walking alongside my clients with an open, unbiased perspective and a deep understanding of mental health. My role is to provide a supportive space where clients can uncover their strengths, gain clarity, and explore pathways towards their aspirations. While maintaining a positive and hopeful outlook, I understand that change requires readiness and commitment, a cornerstone of my therapeutic philosophy.
Over the years, I've gained extensive experience addressing issues, including life transitions, trauma, grief, youth-related challenges, relationship dynamics, and couples' challenges. My journey into mental health was motivated by a deep passion for helping others and witnessing their growth. This passion fuels my commitment to creating a safe and empathetic environment where every client feels valued and understood.
Outside of my professional role, I cherish my life as a mother, sister, daughter, and friend, finding balance and fulfilment in these relationships. The daily challenges and opportunities for growth in my work keep me engaged and inspired, making counselling not just a career but a continuous journey of learning and connection.
