ACA-approved OPDPACFA-endorsed training – ONLINE This is NOT ACA-accredited for Supervision, only for OPD points. ACA members will need to complete educational requirements for entry into the College of Supervisors by enrolling in an ACA-accredited Supervision course. Level 1: Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision This E-Learning Course provides the opportunity for nursing, allied health and welfare professionals interested in clinical supervision to up-skill and for more experienced clinicians to further develop their competence in setting up and delivering clinical supervision. There is an opportunity to progress to the Level 2 Assessment of Competency course on completion of this Level 1 course. The aims of the course are to:
  • Develop a sound knowledge of the role of clinical supervision when working as a health or welfare professional
  • Recognise the importance of supervision and the benefits for those who receive clinical supervision but also the benefits to clients
  • Be aware of the different models of supervision
  • Be introduced to the role of the initial supervisor meeting and defining the purpose of supervision with the supervisee.
  • Recognise the importance of a safe and supportive relationship that underpins a good supervisory experience
  • Have knowledge of contract setting in supervision and determining supervisee-learning needs
  • Be introduced to various techniques of best practice supervision as well as reflective practice
  • Understand the value of effective feedback and evaluation.
 Level 2: Assessment of Supervisor Competency Skills Students who have completed Level 1 may choose to enrol in the Level 2 Assessment of Competency. For this assessment task on completion of the on-line component students are required to submit an audio or video recording of a supervision session. A feedback assessment report will be provided once marked which can take up to 4 weeks. On successful completion you will receive your final certificate of Supervisor competency.

  Christine Senediak BA (Hons), M Psychol (Clin), M Family Therapy
Christine Senediak is an accredited supervisor trainer and supervisor with nearly 40 years clinical, education and supervisory experience.  She supervises widely providing individual, peer, group and organisational supervision to psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counsellors  and Allied  health clinicians working in child and adolescent and family services, schools, adult mental health, drug health, gambling, sexual assault, cross cultural and trauma services. She divides her time between providing workshops and training in family therapy, counselling and supervision and clinical practice and supervision.  Within supervision, Christine employs a competency-based and reflective practice approach to supervision. She has a strong focus on enhancing self-awareness of relational issues between therapist, client and systems. Christine incorporates elements of systemic, cognitive behavioural, mindfulness and person-centered therapies in both clinical and supervisory contexts.
