Certificate of Attainment in Group and Individual Supervision Professional/clinical supervision is an essential safeguard for clients, support for counsellors and mental health workers and a process through which practitioners can develop their skills and competence. A competent professional/clinical supervisor for counsellors and psychotherapists and mental health workers should be able to conduct supervision sessions using various supervision interventions, provide effective evaluation and feedback to supervisees, and address the ethical and legal considerations of supervision. The supervision training course will facilitate the development of supervisory knowledge and skills for experienced counsellors and equip practitioners with the specialist knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective supervisor.

3 Day Live Training Schedule

Each day is 9.00 am – 4.30 pm and attendance is mandatory

Day 1: Group supervision training and practical group exercises

Day 2: Training and Supervision case studies plus supervision demonstration by trainer and assessment preparation.

Day 3: Supervisor assessments completed in triads consisting of supervisor, counsellor and assessor. Each participant assessment is for 60 min. 

Please note as per ACA guidelines assessments are conducted in-person at the venue by a supervisor/trainer who is a member of the College of Supervisors. Participants must be present to complete assessment and cannot submit by video or recording. Counsellors must present real scenarios to supervision – roleplays are not accepted.

This training provides 6 hours of supervision

Presenter Qualifications:

Master of Counselling, PhD Counselling Psychology, ACA Level 4 Member College of Supervisors
Sophie’s background is in primary, secondary and specialist education educator. After further counsellor training, she has worked as a school counsellor both in international schools and here in Australia in specialist settings and for independent schools. She specialises in family and adolescent counselling and clinical supervision services for therapists and educators in wellbeing in Australia and Singapore. Sophie is also currently working as a Lecturer in the School of Educational Psychology and Counselling at Monash University.
