In this training course, you will become familiar with the basic theory of motivational interviewing, practice ways of responding effectively to challenging client statements, and develop skills for fostering an effective therapeutic alliance at the very first meeting.Provided that all requirements are met, including 100% attendance and successful completion of an online assessment the Certificate of Attendance for The Essentials of Motivational Interviewing will be awarded at the conclusion of the course.  The assessment of the content of the course must be undertaken to enable the awarding of OPD points.

Presenter Qualifications:
Raymond Chip Tafrate, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Central Connecticut State University.
