Daniella is a qualified Counsellor registered with the Australian Counselling Association and Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia who has a broad area of knowledge and experience working with children, adolescents, and families with disabilities and complex mental health needs.
Daniella’s early career experience includes working within the disability, youth, and NDIS. She has also undertaken volunteer work supporting youth under 30 in suicide prevention. Embracing a warm and playful approach, Daniella values connection, safety, and self-determination, which she views as essential in her work with children, adolescents, and adults. Daniella’s approach is informed by trauma-responsive practice, child-centred principles, and considers the child holistically to form trusting relationships.
Daniella’s practice is influenced by knowledge in various areas, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and other biopsychosocial approaches to support children when facilitating their desired goals. She sees play as the means through which children explore and understand their world, as she uses playfulness as an opportunity to help children develop social, emotional, and self-regulatory skills. Daniella has a special interest in working with clients who might be experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioural difficulties, supporting parents, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Outside of work, Daniella enjoys spending time with her friends and family and exploring new places, foods, and cafes
