Hi I'm Jane Stephens and I'm a qualified Registered Telehealth (phone and online) counsellor based in Sydney, Australia. I’m passionate about helping people overcome their challenges and achieve their goals to live authentically empowered lives through affordable online telehealth counselling services.
My intention is to offer counselling therapy to people who can't access other mental health services, either due to remote or regional locations in our large country, or due to financial difficulties.
In this current cost of living crisis, I aim to bridge a much needed gap for those who aren't able to access psychological services through Medicare. By offering online services I can keep costs down and therefore offer far lower rates to my clients than those of traditional, face to face counselling in rooms.
I provide both short and long term telehealth counselling, both online and telephone, to adult individuals, and I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds who come to me with a diverse range of problems, including:

My approach to counselling is Person-Centred (PC), so I respect your autonomy, dignity and uniqueness – you are the expert in your own life and have the potential to grow and change. In my integrative approach, I use a PC non directive framework as my base and then, by building on this foundation, I can incorporate more active counselling methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques, Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Narrative Therapy, to find different perspectives and a way of reframing life stories.
I also incorporate psychoeducation where appropriate, as I believe knowing more about how our minds work is not only empowering but is a fundamental factor toward achieving optimum mental health and wellbeing.
