I’m Dr. Ladan Sahafi, a ACA registered counsellor with a deep
passion for helping people navigate life’s complexities.
With a background in Computer Science and Data Analytics,
I’ve spent much of my career helping others to identify patterns, make informed
decisions, and apply strategies for better outcomes. But it was my PhD in
Health Sciences, helping people with challenging conditions develop
self-management skills for a better quality of life that fully deepened my
desire to empower others through meaningful change, supporting emotional
well-being and resilience building. While my doctorate isn’t medical, it gave
me a valuable perspective on the intersection of psychology, health, and
well-being.
My current part-time role in data analytics also gives me
insight into the pressures faced by professionals working in high-stakes,
complex environments. Whether juggling multiple projects at hand or navigating
the intricacies of various responsibilities, I know how overwhelming it can be
to meet multiple competing demands. As a partner and parent, I also appreciate
the challenge of balancing career and family life. In counselling, I bring all
my experience together to support those navigating a busy, fast-paced life.
I know how easy it is to lose sight of yourself when life
constantly demands more of you, which is why I specialise in supporting
individuals like you—those who feel overwhelmed by the demands of their
careers, family responsibilities, and personal challenges.
I value kindness, curiosity, and a genuine desire to help
others, and I approach each session with compassion and a non-judgmental
attitude. I’m here to listen to your story, understand your unique situation,
and help you find the strategies and tools that work best for you, so you can build
resilience and regain balance both in your mind and in your life.
My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based techniques, all of which are
designed to help you create lasting change and find practical solutions to the
challenges you’re facing.
