After 17 years of experience within a busy medical practice, Liana is now focusing her skills as a registered clinical counsellor in private practice. Liana has a degree in both Counselling and Applied Psychology, graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 2005. Liana has dedicated her career to helping individuals navigate a wide range of mental health challenges.
Liana has a particular interest in working with clients affected by panic disorder, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, stress, body dysmorphia, eating disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as those dealing with broader mental health concerns. Liana has experience working in the occupational rehabilitation sector, but also has experience working in a high paced, acute mental health setting whilst spending sometime at Perth Clinic. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of each person's unique journey. She provides a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and pursue meaningful personal growth.
Grounded in evidence-informed practice, Liana adopts a multidisciplinary and integrative therapeutic approach. She tailors each session to the individual, drawing on a range of modalities including:
- Person-Centred Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Solution-Focused Therapy
This flexible, client-led framework allows Liana to support her clients in cultivating insight, enhancing coping strategies, and making sustainable changes aligned with their values and goals.
