Since 2016, I have been working as a counsellor, supporting individuals and couples through life’s challenges with empathy, understanding, and a practical approach. I currently work three days a week at Relationships Australia Victoria in Shepparton and one day a week in private practice at Sonas Counselling in Kilmore.
My approach is client-centered and evidence-based, drawing from a range of therapeutic modalities to best meet the needs of each individual. These include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and the Gottman Method for couples therapy. I am a Gottman-qualified counsellor and tailor my approach to support each client’s goals and unique circumstances.
I hold a Diploma of Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors and am currently completing a Bachelor of Counselling through Torrens University Online. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I spent more than 20 years in the corporate sector, primarily in human resources. This experience informs my understanding of workplace dynamics, stress, and career-related transitions.
In addition to my professional work, I have volunteered with The Smith Family’s iTrack Mentoring Program, supporting young people to achieve their goals.
Clients often describe me as down-to-earth, flexible, and easy to talk to. I believe that empathy, trust, and collaboration are at the heart of a strong therapeutic relationship.
If you're looking for a supportive and qualified counsellor, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
