Priya Martin, Counsellor
Founder | The Bloom Counselling Sanctuary
I am a qualified and trauma-informed counsellor based in Penrith, NSW, and the founder of The Bloom Counselling Sanctuary—a private practice dedicated to supporting the emotional wellbeing of women, children, adolescents, and families. My approach to counselling is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and the belief that every individual has the capacity to heal and thrive when met with safety, respect, and genuine human connection. My clinical experience spans community health, trauma services, and women's wellbeing centres, where I’ve supported clients through a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, grief and loss, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, parenting stress, and identity exploration. I have particular experience working with women recovering from family and domestic violence, as well as children who have experienced relational disruption or emotional distress.
I take a client-centred and integrative approach to therapy, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs, values, and goals of the person in front of me. My practice draws from a range of evidence-based modalities including Person-Centred Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic and mindfulness-based interventions. I also incorporate creative and expressive therapies, particularly when working with younger clients.
I am a qualified, trauma-informed counsellor with an Advanced Diploma in Youth Work and Community Services, a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), and a Master’s in Counselling. I work with individuals across the lifespan, with a particular focus on women, children, and families. My clinical experience includes working in community trauma services, specialising in domestic violence and sexual assault recovery. I also have a background in supporting children and providing conflict resolution services through private practice settings. My approach is warm, client-centred, and grounded in evidence-based modalities that honour each person’s story, strengths, and capacity for healing.
