Sharon Court is a caring and approachable counsellor based in Perth, Western Australia, specialising in couples and family therapy. Sharon holds a Bachelor’s in Law and Politics from Notre Dame University Australia, a Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the Australian Institute of Family Counselling (AIFC) and is currently pursuing her Master of Counselling. As a registered member of both the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the Christian Counsellors Association of Australia (CCAA), she is committed to maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.
Her counselling style focuses on fostering a warm, accepting atmosphere that enables clients to safely explore their experiences and feelings. Sharon has a strong passion for assisting couples in enhancing communication, resolving conflicts, and rekindling emotional ties. She utilises a holistic and customised approach, incorporating attachment theory, psychoeducation, diverse therapy modalities, a trauma-sensitive perspective, and strength-based strategies to meet each client’s unique needs with care addressed.
Sharon’s journey into counselling is informed by her extensive and varied experience. Her early work in healthcare as an Assistant in Nursing across aged care and disability services provided her with firsthand experience in delivering compassionate, person-centred care to vulnerable populations. Her commitment to service extends beyond clinical settings. Sharon has actively engaged in community service through international volunteer work, prison ministry, and advocacy roles with organisations such as World Vision and Compassion Australia. A testament to her enduring values of empathy, integrity, and kindness. Balancing her professional development with her roles as a wife and mother of three, Sharon brings a unique blend of clinical knowledge and personal insight to her practice.
