Sophie Firmin is a Chinese-Australian currently living on the outskirts of Darwin. Sophie has been a counsellor since 1997, a family therapist since 2006 and in 2012 started as a clinical supervisor for counsellors, psychologists and other mental health professionals. Sophie has extensive counselling experience working in urban, rural and remote Aboriginal communities throughout the country in a paid and voluntary capacity. Sophie's belief in the inherent worth of each individual shapes her approach, guiding her to tailor therapeutic modalities—such as cognitive, behavioral, and experiential therapies—according to the unique needs of the client. Sophie is a certified advanced functional breathing instructor delivering science-based interventions to address the breath-body-brain-mind connections, which are particularly effective for anxiety and panic disorders, ADHD, ASD and sleep disorders.
