My counselling experience of six years, consists of working with adults, teenagers and children who are faced with grief and loss, anxiety or depression, trauma and relationship issues (which includes individual or couple counselling). I provide a very safe, friendly, engaging and interactive therapeutic counselling environment, where you feel heard and valued at all times. I can help you identify your values and strengths, assist you in controlling or changing any matters or barriers you may be facing, or help you learn how to take a new direction in life and make some achievable or life changing goals.I have extensive experience working with couples for relationship counselling. As a couple, you may be experiencing issues controlling your relationship in an unhealthy way or are finding too hard to understand. Through the use of different counselling therapies, strategies and techniques, I can gently guide and help motivate you to open up, communicate and express your feelings, so you can get a hold of or work through any problems that may be troubling your relationship. Counselling can also help you recognise or discover what you want and what your partner needs in your relationship, giving you the opportunity to learn how to work together or towards making a positive change for a happier future. As well as counselling experience, I have fifteen years experience working in the educational sector with children in schools and students with disabilities. I work with children who may be experiencing trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, anger, stress, fear, have lack of confidence or low self esteem. I provide a positive counselling environment, that makes children feel comfortable and safe, whilst encouraging them to talk at their own pace, and express what is really upsetting or worrying them. Children enjoy the interactive therapies and strategies that are used, which include cognitive behaviour therapy and play therapy techniques (they are age appropriate and supportive). Counselling can help children learn how to look at, manage or change their way of thinking, behaviour or situation.I have also worked as a volunteer, working with adults with disabilities and people who are homeless, and I have a good understanding of the complexities of people who are faced with homelessness.Various counselling techniques and therapies I use, include: Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, Narrative Therapy,.From my own personal skills and life experiences, comes my passion and enthusiasm to support anyone through counselling, because "you matter".Hours of practice are: Monday and Tuesday 5pm to 9pm, Wednesday 9am to 9pm and Thursday 1pm to 9pm. To make an appointment, call between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Cost of face to face consultation is $80 (for 1 hour). Cost of phone or online counselling is $80 (for 1 hour).
