Presenter Qualifications:
 John Flanagan who is one Australia’s most experienced Advanced Gottman Clinical Trainers & Consultants. AMHSW, Masters Gestalt Therapy & Advanced Gottman Clinical Trainer & Consultant. Since completing his Bachelor of Social Work in 1988 and later a Masters in Gestalt Therapy, John has had an extensive history in direct service delivery with couples, families and young people, as well as in organisational development and training. He has developed a practice that utilises a range of experiential therapies combining these approaches in his work style. John has also completed his Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and has delivered a broad range of training both accredited and non-accredited. John is trained to provide therapy to individuals, couples and groups in a range of therapeutic approaches including : Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gottman Marital Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt Therapy, Adventure Therapy, Emotion Focussed Therapy for couples.
John will be joined in facilitating this program by Gottman Clinical Level 1 Trainers – Campbell MacBean, Psychologist, Clinical Supervisor & Certified Gottman Therapist and Carole Simpson, Psychologist, Clinical Supervisor & Certified Gottman Therapist.
Trish and John are Advanced Gottman Clinical Trainers & Consultants for the Gottman Institute. They have facilitated over 200+ training events including 50+ Gottman Level 1 – 50+ Gottman Level 2 – 25+ Gottman Level 3 workshops. Trish is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience of working with both couples and individuals. Trish brings a wealth of experience working with complex couples struggling with trauma, mood disorders, personality vulnerabilities, anger management issues, affair recovery and alcohol use and is also an experienced clinical supervisor and assessor for the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority. John also has an extensive experience in service delivery with couples, families and young people, as well as in organisational development, keynote speaking and training. Over the last 15+ years, John has provided a range of psycho-education group programs to Australian Veterans and their families in areas such as trauma, depression, anxiety and resilience as well as providing gold standard therapy to couples from all around Australia, SE Asia and NZ. Both Trish & John’s guiding principles, are to utilise sound, evidenced-based approaches to support people in building, repairing and rejuvenating strong, sustainable relationships. They are also committed to developing and training relationship therapists across Australia, NZ, and Asia. They are published authors, and are both asked to regularly appear in print, podcasts and key note speaking.
