This short course is designed to provide health care professionals, social workers, educators, and anyone involved in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma with an introduction to trauma-informed care (TIC).
You will gain an understanding of what trauma is, how it affects individuals and communities, and the best practices for implementing trauma-informed principles in various service settings. 

Key Learning Objectives / Outcomes:

  1. Define trauma and understand its widespread impact on individuals’ physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  2. Recognise the signs of trauma in clients and understand the potential paths for recovery.
  3. Apply the key principles of trauma-informed care in daily practice to avoid re-traumatization while promoting healing and recovery.
  4. Develop skills in creating and maintaining a supportive and safe environment for both trauma survivors and service providers.
