Research Opportunity: Supervision Experience and Needs of Those Working With Male Perpetrators of Domestic Violence.

Calling Frontline Living Without Violence Workers:

The University of Auckland is conducting a research to explore the supervision experience, and needs of those working with male perpetrators of domestic violence.

The aim is to understand what front line workers would find beneficial in terms of supervision, and what their current experiences are. They are currently seeking interviews with six counsellors, and/or group facilitators, who have been working in the male perpetrator space.

Criteria for participants:

  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Working with male perpetrators
  • Must not be related, or know the researcher personally
  • Must not be a past teacher of the research team

If you are working in New Zealand or Australia, and are working directly with those accused or convicted of domestic violence, you are invited to participate.

Expectations of participants:

Participants are invited to participate in an interview, facilitated by zoom, for approximately 60 minutes. The audio will be recorded for later transcription. Pseudonyms will be used, and all measures will be taken to ensure your identity remains confidential. Participation is completely voluntary, and you can withdraw participation during the data collection process. All data will be stored with multi-factor identification and disposed according to the University of Auckland Human Participants Ethics Committee (UAHPEC; 2022) applicants reference manual.
