5 March 2026
The Australian Counselling Association was please to be part of a great day at Parliament House in Canberra this March, as more than 55 member organisations from across Australia came together for the Mental Health Sector Expo, hosted by Mental Health Australia.
The Expo provided a valuable opportunity for parliamentarians to hear directly from the people and organisations delivering vital mental health services on the ground, both nationally and within their local communities. It also brought together leading advocates and researchers, highlighting the strength, diversity and impact of Australia’s mental health sector.
ACA was proud to represent our community of more than 23,000 registered counsellors, psychotherapists and students. Throughout the morning, we shared insights into the essential work being carried out by our members every day to fellow mental health professionals, organisations, and parliamentarians, including The Hon Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care.
The Expo also provided a welcome opportunity to reconnect with colleagues across the sector. Strengthening these relationships is vital as we continue to advocate for accessible, high-quality mental health care and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
ACA extends its thanks to Mental Health Australia for hosting this important event, and we look forward to continuing our work alongside sector partners to support the mental wellbeing of all Australians.
