New Rebate Opportunity: Australian Defence Force Family Health Program

ACA is pleased to announce that counselling services are now reimbursable under the Australian Defence Force (ADF) Family Health Program through Navy Health (ARHG).

This is a welcome development recognising the crucial role mental health professionals play in supporting ADF families.

What does this mean for ACA registered counsellors?

The ADF Family Health Program is not a private health insurance product, and it does not directly register providers or maintain a provider list. For counselling clients to claim, you must be registered with the Australian Regional Health Group (ARHG) for claims to be processed.

What is the eligibility criteria to apply for a provide number with ARHG?

  • Level 3 or 4 ACA registration
  • Current professional indemnity & public liability insurance ($2,000,000 professional indemnity cover & $20,000,000 public liability cover)
  • Current full First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
  • Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)

How to Apply

If you are not an existing provide with ARHG and would like to apply, log into the ACA website and apply via your Member Portal – Private Health Fund Portal.

About the ADF Family Health Program

The ADF Family Health Program is an initiative that recognises the service and sacrifice of our ADF personnel and their families, and the difficulties many ADF families experience accessing affordable healthcare upon relocation. The Program allows eligible ADF family members to claim out of pocket expenses subject to their benefit limit ($800 per dependant per year) for many health services including eligible counsellors registered with ACA.
