Born and raised in Ireland, I migrated to Australia in 2005 with wife and two children, settling on the outskirts of the scenic Barossa Valley. My professional experience spans a career in the military, broadcast media, performing arts, education, and frontline humanitarian work with the UN and international NGOs in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the complexities of mental health, particularly the marginalisation and isolation that often accompany trauma and emotional distress. As a trauma-informed, integrative therapist, I prioritise the therapeutic relationship, fostering trust, confidentiality, empathy, and collaboration. My integrative therapeutic approach draws from various modalities including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Expressive Therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Bereavement Therapy, ensuring flexibility in meeting each client’s unique needs. My private practice, Intinnua—inspired by the Irish words intinn (mind/spirit) and nua (new)—reflects my commitment to renewal, healing, and growth. While happy to support for a broad spectrum of issues, I especially welcome clients seeking support for Perinatal Loss, Migrant Issues, and Life Transitions, especially older adults. Qualified with a Master of Counselling & Psychotherapy (Clinical Practice) from the University of Adelaide, I uphold the highest ethical and professional standards. Feel free to visit my website for further information.
