Alison views life’s challenges as opportunities for growth. She will carefully listen to your concerns, help you understand how past experiences may connect with current challenges, and work collaboratively and with empathy to help you move forward.
Alison has a specific interest and training in helping clients who have experienced trauma, and developmental trauma. She has worked with individuals and couples looking for help with interpersonal issues, anxiety, panic, PTSD, depression, the impact of abuse, self-harm, eating disorders, separation / divorce, diagnosis with serious illnesses (such a cancer), Tic Disorders / Tourette Syndrome, and more.
Alison uses an integrative approach to therapy drawing on Relational Theory, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT theory and skills).
Originally from the UK, Alison has previously lived and worked in Sydney and then Singapore for more than 30 years.
In her previous career Alison gained extensive experience building cross-cultural teams, and in training, performance development, workplace conflict management and career counselling.
