Hope Cottage is a healing space in Mount Molloy, Tropical Far North Queensland, on Koko Muluridji Country.
Surrounded by tall ghost gums, butterflies, curlews, and flowers blooming in the garden, it’s a space where you can sit in the quiet, breathe in the bush, and feel the gentle rhythm of the land beneath your feet.
My name is Julia. I’m a trauma-informed counsellor, here to offer a calm, grounded space to talk things through, reconnect with yourself, and grow at your own pace. Whether we meet in the garden at Hope Cottage, online, in a professional counselling room, or through a home visit, I aim to make it feel natural, safe, and deeply human.
People come to me for all sorts of reasons— emotional distress, grief, anxiety, trauma, creative blocks, overwhelm, or just a longing to feel whole again. My approach is gentle and collaborative, drawing from years of study, lived experience, and creative practice. We might use narrative therapy, body-based awareness, creative expression, or simply sit with a cuppa and begin where you are.
I often work outdoors or in nature-based settings, where the land itself becomes part of the conversation. The garden, the breeze, the birdsong—they can hold things in ways words sometimes can’t. This is a space where we can slow down and notice what’s really going on beneath the surface.
Hope Cottage is also part of a broader vision—a place where healing, creativity, nature, and regenerative ideas come together to support people in becoming who they were always meant to be.
If this way of working speaks to you, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s find a way to walk this path gently, together.
