The Australian Counselling Association was proud to take part in a milestone moment for the profession in March, kicking off the 2026 National Career and Employment Expos in Victoria at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

This marks the first time the counselling industry has been involved in an initiative like this, and we’re excited to help build awareness and support future students as they explore pathways into the profession. As demand for mental health and wellbeing support continues to grow across Australia, it is more important than ever to connect with future practitioners and highlight the vital role counsellors play in supporting individuals and communities.

Throughout the Expo, ACA was on the ground speaking with students, career changers and educators about what a career in counselling looks like. From training pathways and accreditation to real-world insights into the profession, the team offered practical guidance to those considering this rewarding field.

Events like the National Career and Employment Expos provide an important platform to showcase the diversity within the profession. By being present, ACA is helping to ensure that counselling is part of the national conversation around future careers.

If you or someone you know is exploring a pathway into counselling, the ACA team would love to connect. Entry to future Expos is free, and visitors are encouraged to stop by the ACA booth to learn more.
