The Australian Counselling Association (ACA) is inviting expressions of interest from ACA members who would like to volunteer as reviewers for the ACA 2027 National Conference Abstract Review Committee. Please note is this a volunteer role.
As a reviewer, you will be assigned approximately 15-20 conference abstracts to assess against the conference review criteria if suitable to form part of the program. Abstracts will be allocated progressively as submissions are received, with approximately two months following the close of submissions to complete your reviews.

To be an eligible volunteer, you must:
- Hold ACA Level 2 registration or above
- Have a minimum of five years professional counselling experience
- Will not be submitting an abstract for the ACA 2027 National Conference
The review process will commence in August 2026 and close early December 2026. Specific dates will be confirmed at a later date.
Reviewers will evaluate each abstract against four key criteria:
- Topic importance and relevance
- Originality
- Quality
- Discussion provocation
The review process will be completed through ACA's online abstract management portal. Instructions and guidance on using the platform will be provided. As all submissions are confidential, reviewers are not permitted to distribute or retain copies of abstracts or related materials.
