Historically, counselling education across Australia and the Oceania region has leaned heavily on textbooks and resources developed in the US and UK. While valuable, these materials often fall short of reflecting the unique cultural contexts and professional landscapes of our region, posing challenges to the development of a truly localised professional identity.
Dr Susan Sisko, University of Canberra, is looking to change that, and has secured a publishing contract with international academic publisher Palgrave to lead the creation of a 10-volume textbook series titled:
Palgrave Studies in Counselling and Psychotherapy in Oceania.
The series is a proposed edited volume designed to provide a comprehensive, contemporary, and contextually grounded account of ethics for counselling and psychotherapy in the Australian and Oceanic context. Dr Sisko and the University of Queensland are inviting scholars, educators, and experienced practitioners with expertise in counselling and psychotherapy ethics to make contact if you would be interested in contributing to this book.
