We are excited to share another exclusive opportunity for ACA members to access free LivingWorks START suicide prevention training.

ACA has partnered with Mates in Construction to offer 1,000 FREE licenses for LivingWorks‘ START suicide prevention training.

START is a 90-minute course designed for individuals to learn how to identify signs of suicidal thoughts and effectively respond to ensure safety. LivingWorks has been a pioneer in suicide intervention training since 1983, they believe that suicide can be preventable, and everyone can play a role in building suicide-safer communities. 

This training is eligible for five (5) Ongoing Professional Development (OPD) points.

Complete the training at your own pace within 12-months of registration. 

What you will receive with START:

  • High-quality content with a variety of simulation options, based on best-practice in online curriculum development.
  • Learn a powerful four-step model to help keep someone safer from suicide, practicing engaging an individual with direct and open talk about suicide.
  • LivingWorks Start has been proven to increase participant skills and confidence to intervene.
  • Safety resources and support are available throughout the program.


How to Apply

  1. Complete the New User Form which is prefilled with organisation code ‘MATES’.
  2. From the LivingWorks home page, select ‘Our Training’.
  3. From the courses available, select ‘LivingWorks START’.
  4. Select your language option and click ‘Buy Now’. The cost of $39.95 will display.
  5. Complete the Billing & Shipping Information and add the Coupon Code: MATES.
  6. Click ‘Update’ which will update the cart from $39.95 to $0. Then click on Complete Order.
  7. Your receipt will be displayed – click on ‘My Plan’ to be taken to your training page.
  8. You’re now ready to commence your START Training!
