New Private Health Fund: HBF adds Counselling as a Reimbursable Service

ACA is pleased to announce HBF has joined the list of health funds offering counselling rebates through the Australian Regional Health Group (ARHG).

This expansion is a step forward in improving accessibility to mental health support and recognising the important role registered counsellors play.

What does this mean for ACA registered counsellors?

If you are already an ARHG-provider, no further action is needed. Eligible clients can now claim through HBF their counselling sessions. Please refer you clients to their policy to determine their eligibility.

What is the eligibility criteria to apply for a provide number with ARHG?

  • Level 3 or 4 ACA registration
  • Current professional indemnity & public liability insurance ($2,000,000 professional indemnity cover & $20,000,000 public liability cover)
  • Current full First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
  • Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009)

How to Apply

If you are not an existing provide with ARHG and would like to apply, log into the ACA website and apply via your Member Portal – Private Health Fund Portal.

HBF utilises ARHG's provider accreditation service to manage provider registrations, so there's no need to contact HBF directly for registration purposes.
