  Profile

Welcome to A Safe Space With Ramya, a compassionate, warm, and non-judgemental therapeutic space where you can truly feel seen, heard, supported, and safe to explore your experiences at your own pace and journey.

I offer trauma-informed tele-health counselling through a person-centred and integrative approach, focusing deeply on listening, connection, and supporting each client as a whole person. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Solution-Focused Therapy, tailoring support to each individual’s unique needs and goals. I am also completing my Gottman Level 1 Training to provide Gottman Method Couples Therapy and better support couples with relationship issues.

As a practicing dentist with over a decade experience in private and public healthcare, I understand the pressures of the healthcare system and the emotional impact that health conditions, burnout, stress, injuries, chronic pain, health conditions, work-life balance, and caregiving can have on a person’s wellbeing.

I also bring lived experience and a deep understanding of grief, loss, and trauma, including how traumatic experiences can affect a person internally, externally, emotionally, physically, and relationally.

Born and raised in Australia within a South Asian background, I also understand the cultural experiences, expectations, and stigma surrounding mental health within South Asian communities. I am passionate about creating culturally safe and supportive spaces that encourage openness, healing, and self-understanding.

My purpose is to spread compassion and support clients through my authenticity and understanding, helping them feel less alone as they navigate life’s challenges.
