Welcome to A Safe Space With Ramya, a compassionate, warm, and non-judgemental therapeutic space where you can truly feel seen, heard, supported, and safe to explore your experiences at your own pace and journey.

I offer trauma-informed tele-health counselling through a person-centred and integrative approach, focusing deeply on listening, connection, and supporting each client as a whole person. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Solution-Focused Therapy, tailoring support to each individual’s unique needs and goals.

I currently also work with couples exploring relationship and marital issues through Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). We work through understanding attachment theory and different attachment styles, conflict styles and communication patterns. To further support couples, I am also undergoing Gottman Training with The Gottman Institute, to provide clients with Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

I am also dual qualified, and as a practicing AHPRA registered dentist with over a decade experience in private and public healthcare, I understand the pressures of the healthcare system and the emotional impact that health conditions, burnout, stress, injuries, chronic pain, health conditions, work-life balance, and caregiving can have on a person’s wellbeing.

Additionally, I bring lived experience and a deep understanding of loss, grief, and trauma, including how traumatic experiences can affect a person internally, externally, emotionally, physically and relationally. I also understand how childhood trauma and complex family systems can impact one’s self-worth, identity, and attachment styles, impacting adult romantic, familial, and platonic relationships.

Born and raised in Australia within a South Asian background, I also understand the cultural experiences, stereotypes, expectations, and stigma surrounding mental health within South Asian communities. I am passionate about creating culturally safe and supportive spaces that encourage openness, healing, and self-understanding.

My purpose is to spread compassion and support clients through my authenticity and understanding, helping them feel less alone as they navigate life’s challenges.
