Yana is an ACA Level 2 registered counsellor with a Master of Counselling, a Diploma of Counselling, and an original professional background in music teaching. She works with eating behaviour, anxiety, self-criticism, emotional regulation, and support for people who feel stuck in cycles of control, overwhelm, and disconnection.
Yana works in English and Russian.
Her therapeutic approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative, with an emphasis on emotional safety, self-respect, and practical change. She integrates emotional, cognitive, behavioural, somatic, narrative, and existential perspectives, alongside psychoeducation delivered in simple and accessible language.
Yana is particularly interested in helping clients develop a more peaceful relationship with food, body, and self, and in supporting people to move away from shame-based patterns toward greater agency and inner stability. Her additional professional education includes courses in eating disorders and psychiatry/mental health for counsellors, and she continues to build her knowledge through ongoing professional development in this area.
